Right...so we're heading into Summer and everyday is a perfect opportunity for great photos. I'm well-happy and not freezing for the first time in the last 6 months or so.
I now am playing around with RAWs quite a lot because I felt it was time I give it ago. Only drawback is that it takes up way too much space on my memory card. Time to upgrade...more GB for me :)
Wel yes, so photos up and around uni and Manor Park...and a few discoveries. Never knew about the miserable pond at the back of MP till the other day. The flora made great photos (see below)..
Pretty happy with this lot...done all in the middle of studies for the upcoming exams. So let's hope the passion lasts LOL

Blabber-mouth
This blog deserves a bit of a rant, methinks
So am gonna hit it off with a rant about how merticulous photography can get.
I still find it difficult to compensate for bad lighting on insanely bright and stupidly dull days. Yes, I could make use of metering but I am too much of a noob to do any of that at the moment. My greatest fear is not being able to readjust the camera setting back to the way they were if I were to 'fine tune' it. A Canon EOS 400D isn't the most sophisticated out there but I, and I reiterate, am a noob. I haven't yet mustered the courage to push my camera to its full capabilities and to be honest, I don't really know how to. The most I have progressed was moving on to Manual mode after being stuck on Program mode (I never use Auto...because it's shite) for ages..but having said that, I only use Manual mode every now and then. Clearly I am not your typical camera junkie who can guess the specific settings needed for optimal shooting by just looking at the lighting available to me.
I guess it's the physics involved which puts me off. I was eventually faced with the prospect of shooting with an antique manual lens over christmas which produced the epic-fail photos which I posted not too long ago. While I finally learnt how aperture and shutter-speed go hand-in-hand (I knew the concept behind it but didn't get the chance to test it out till then), it just proved how mathematical and physics-y (or is it 'physical'?? 'Physical' sounds syntactically correct but in this context it sounds like I am sexually assaulting the camera O.O we don't want that now, do we LOL) photography* can be.
I've been told it's all down to practice. But I don't think I have enough time or energy to invest into such practice. To be fair however, working on Program mode hasn't all been bad. It's just the occasional blips which make me wish I knew a little bit more behind the mechanics of my camera. Anyways, I shall leave it there for now...and leave you lot to wander around my blog or continue on with your blog-surfing or whatever it is you were doing before I disrupted your train of thought :D
*bet some of you read this as 'ponography'..don't pretend nowww..we're only human :P
