I am on a sleep-deprived edge at the moment having managed to only conquer about 3 hours worth of sleep. But in any case, this is a good time to intro a few photos I took over summer :)
Sisters' school (Shah Alam); teachers, architecture and performances by bitchy-looking young teenagers (which wasn't too bad tbh :P). But no, I am not here to rant about the school or its events but rather what I did with the photos from those events.
Despite the unusual angle of the photos, there really wasn't much 'oomph' to the photos. Slighty disappointing turnout I'd say. However, a simple flick to B&W seemed to have solved that problem. Looking at the photos of the girls below, it seemed to dehumanise them (with the aid of make-up and costume of course :D). Certain element of Zimbardo's deindividuation? Perhaps but am not going to press further into that topic.
That photo however, is a complete contrast to the ones of the teachers (also in B&W) in which you can actually see the faces of the teachers..
Nothing much to say abt the photos of the school though..just disappointed.

Taken a battering
Much neglect for my photo blog over tha past 2 weeks or so...but since I'm now having a brief return to my photos and blog, here's some photos for everyone to have a look at.
Photos taken with the usual Canon EOS400D but with a 50mm (manual) lens. Sorry about the arrangement of the photos. Clearly my blog (or me, rather) is not having a great start to the day. Perhaps it's the fact that we just lost an hour to the time change. There isn't much to say about these photos to be honest. I just absolutey love the DoF on the photos. Would have loved to have done a portrait with it but I didn't have a willing volunteer for my little endeavour. I didn't really mind to be honest because I love working on inanimates (plus my head was more into the abstract/minimalist pictures at the time)
Have I mentioned that I'm a manual lens noob? Completely mucked up some of the photos because I spent more time figuring ot how to use the lens than actually taking photos. Hah! The bane of my stupidity (and noobness)!
All in all, it was a fun experience. Now just waiting for exhibition day to roll around. Monday next week! :D Soon we'll see what everyone else thinks about my photo (btw, I did not upload the photo in the exhibition. The photos below are the ones which did not make the exhibition...the epic-fail photographs :D)

Sing and Shoot
Pictures from my little rendezvous at the cathedral. Lovely day with pretty awesome people. Huge thank you to Cynthia who let me come along. I literally felt like a child being let loose in a toy store.. :D

Check it Out
I have added a new link on this blog. Check out Jack Davison's awesome website. Loving the over-exposed, grainy and exaggerated colours of his photos. His choice of subjects are also rather random but yet have an air of drama in them. Some of his photos come off slightly Andy Warhol-ish but it makes it really stands out in terms of style.
New fave blog..so check it out!

Out of it
Woah! It's been a whirlwind of a week (or 2 weeks rather!). The copious mount of work we've had was almost lethal! It could not have been anymore hectic. So now, in celebration of having finished half of the things I have to do, I'm going to upload a few things I've dug up from my summer holidays
