Well, the term is about to end and I've just got some time to talk about some of the photos I've taken this year. It's been awhile since I've done landscape and I think I'm about to get really horrible at it because the last photography "outing" I went on was barely productive. All I got was a nasty lot of pictures with weird colours and gradients. Nevertheless, here are a couple which I think are worth a look at.
A bright sunny day on campus. Trust me it, in reality, does not look this nice. It was probably around 5pm when I took this picture. Sun was out and it had that golden tinge which added at least a warmer hue to the usually bleak surroundings (think Philip Larkin). Details on trees were really good with the lighting adding a bit of contrast to the overall look. Shadows casted onto the ground was really good in adding detail but I found some of it (especially those at the bottom right of the pic) annoyingly (is there such a word??) distracting.
Cloud scapes. Not really my type of photography but the lighting that day made it irresistable. Nice sweeping motion of clouds gave the picture a nice drawn-out feel to it. Quite impressed really. Would have been better with a short telephoto or fisheye lens but since I have neither(yet) I had to make do with my normal 18-55mm lens. Not much of a drawback as you can see. Oh...and the sign board at the side is just my touch of "artistry" =)

Lighting of the Two
I've got another batch of photos which would definitely interest the people who know me personally =). For everyone else, these are pictures from an event I recently photographed. It was a farewell dinner put together for two people who were leaving their workplace/home of 12 years to take up another job elsewhere.
I got rid of the colour for all three photos. Thought it'd be an effective way on focusing on the subject at hand.

Meet the two people we gathered together for. =). It was pretty difficult to photograph them when they were presenting in front of us because of the lighting. Very harsh red lighting was put up for the event and the only way to eliminate it was by using the flash which in return caused really harsh bright lighting.

A candid photo during the mingling hour. Not a great shot if you ask me. Disappointing to a certain extent really. To many white colours....when I increased the contrast it caused the pictures to burn =S.
Calling for replacements! Anyone interested?

Unfinished.
Another set of photos which I've taken over the years. Watch the evolution of my architectural photography skills =)

These two photos were taken in an old housing area in Malacca. Very unimpressive if you ask me. Taken with a Cybershot T-10. Great colour and saturation but far-from-good composition. Picture seems cut off somehow. I still get really annoyed when I look at it...=S
A slightly better picture. Taken with my Canon EOS 400D. I like the atmosphere it creates and the reflection of the wooden floor. The middle bit of the photo is a bit distracting. Kinda destroys the ambience

One of my favourite pictures of the corridor. Not highly impressive but the depth is a real attention-catcher. Colour is mainly to the warm side(I over-edited it) but it has a great atmosphere of isolation and balance. Shadows are pretty awesome with lotsa detail but some people find that feature quite distasteful. But I beg to differ.
Shit. I got bitten by something.

Obliterated.
I have managed to filter the bad karma out of my life. I'm so happy. Hence, I'm gonna post up some nice pictures like I usually do.

As you should have noticed by now, the theme is birds. I was gonna write something nice about my extremely lovely photos but I've just remembered that I've left something undone.

Vertigo
Hello people. I've got a rather weird set of photos this time. I had taken it under fluorescent lighting with a pretty much plain backdrop. I was hoping to bring out the abstractness of built and structure of everyday items. I like the last one the best. The picture of the kilometrico pen is more of a macro photography than abstract but I put it in anyways.

I'd comment more but I really need to sleep. Dead tired.....
